About the Lake

Leslie Lake sits in a rural, forested part of the Pontiac. Cottage properties line parts of the lake, while Parc Leslie provides one of its main organized recreation areas. The park has more than 200 campsites as well as a beach and water-based activities (MRC de Pontiac, n.d.).

The lake has a quieter cottage-country character than Quebec’s larger resort lakes. Its setting combines private shoreline properties with an established recreation area that gives visitors direct access to the water.

Reading the shoreline

Lake Shape & Shoreline Character

Leslie Lake has an irregular, elongated outline rather than a simple round basin. Its shoreline changes direction several times, giving the lake a natural and uneven silhouette.

Those bends give Leslie Lake its character as a lake-map design. The outline is recognizable without relying on a large number of islands or highly divided arms.

Things to Do

Parc Leslie is the main developed recreation area on Leslie Lake. The MRC de Pontiac lists swimming, fishing and seasonal activities there, along with canoe, kayak and pedal-boat rentals. The park also has a mountain-bike trail and more than 200 campsites (MRC de Pontiac, n.d.).

The surrounding Pontiac region also offers forests, trails and smaller rural communities that add to the outdoor character of the area.

Boating

Paddling is easy to incorporate into a visit to Leslie Lake. Parc Leslie rents canoes, kayaks and pedal boats, making the lake accessible to visitors who do not bring their own watercraft (MRC de Pontiac, n.d.).

Broader claims about motorboat launches or navigation should be avoided until current municipal information confirms access rules and facilities.

Fishing

Quebec includes Leslie Lake in Fishing Zone 10 and lists the lake as extending through the municipalities of Litchfield and Otter Lake. Seasons, limits and exceptions can differ by individual body of water (Government of Quebec, 2026).

Fishing is also listed as an activity at Parc Leslie. Anglers should check the current Zone 10 regulations before each trip because fishing rules can change (Government of Quebec, 2026; MRC de Pontiac, n.d.).

Swimming

Parc Leslie provides an established beach and swimming access on Leslie Lake. The MRC de Pontiac lists swimming among the recreation options available at the lakeside campground (MRC de Pontiac, n.d.).

Swimming conditions and water quality can change, so visitors should check current local information before entering the water.

Nearby Communities

Litchfield and Otter Lake are the communities most closely connected with Leslie Lake. Parc Leslie is located on the Otter Lake side of the lake within the wider MRC de Pontiac (MRC de Pontiac, n.d.; Natural Resources Canada, n.d.).
