About the Lake
Eugenia Lake is a shallow reservoir fed primarily by the upper Beaver River and managed for hydroelectric generation. Ontario Power Generation controls the lake’s water level, including an annual winter drawdown and spring refill. The shoreline combines cottages and permanent residences with forested and wetland areas, and municipal planning documents identify approximately 400 private water and sewage systems serving the Eugenia Lake community (Harrison et al., 2025; Ontario Power Generation, n.d.; Municipality of Grey Highlands, 2024).
